Filipino Netizens Oppose Marcos Deal to accept Biden “Refugees”, as US Pro-Refugee Democrats Need to Walk the Talk!

  • VP Sara Duterte opposed the US deal
  • Ex-Pres. Rodrigo Duterte tells Biden: “Putang-ina ka!”
  • Sen. Imee Marcos: “They’re not refugees!”
  • Netizens: Babe Romauldez brokered the deal!

In recent years, the Democratic Party in the United States, led by President Joe Biden, has been vocal about their open arms policy towards global refugees and illegal migrants. They have virtue-signaled their support for those seeking asylum, condemning any restrictions placed on immigration.

However, recent developments have exposed the hypocrisy of the Democrats and their true intentions. The world knows US Puppet Joe Biden is to blame for the refugee and humanitarian crisis in Central Asia following his disastrous and utterly incompetent exit decision in Afghanistan that allowed the Taliban to take over, causing Americans and locals to flee.

Let’s try to make things clear: They’re Biden “refugees”, not Afghan fake “refugees”.

Now the question is: Why shouldn’t American democrats bear the responsibility of housing these “refugees”, since they cheated and rigged the 2020 elections for their Puppet, only to destroy Afghanistan and now Ukraine?

Just a few days ago, President Biden reminded President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of a request to temporarily house Afghan applicants seeking special immigrant visas (SIVs) in the Philippines. This “request”, a term used by Marcos allies, which was forwarded to the Philippine government as early as October 2022, has raised alarms and questions among politicians and public figures.

Vice President Sara Duterte, for instance, opposed the US request, citing potential security threats and violations of the country’s sovereignty.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte echoed his daughter’s sentiments, urging caution in heeding Biden’s demand. Their concerns are valid, as accepting a large influx of migrants raises security and socioeconomic challenges for any nation.

“I would rather not accept, if it is a demand. Alam mo tong mga Amerikano, kung ganunin mo ako sa panahon ko, bullshitin kita! Magdemand-demand ka sa akin! Putang-ina ka! Sino ka!” Duterte said.

What makes this situation even more intriguing is the Democratic Party’s history of hypocrisy. While they claim to be champions of immigration and defenders of refugees, they have displayed double standards and selective outrage. Solid Blue states like California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New York, where Democrats hold significant power, have been vocal about their love for migrants of all kinds.

However, their true colors shine through when the tables are turned. When Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent planes carrying mostly Venezuelan migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, a haven for America’s liberal elites, the Democrats protested vehemently. Their hypocrisy and gaslighting are evident, as they condemn actions by others that they themselves endorse.

So, many Filipinos are left wondering: Why not accept Afghan non-refugees in a third-world country like the Philippines? Isn’t it time for the proudest Democrats in America to show that they genuinely care and back up their words with action? It’s an opportunity for them to prove their commitment to the values they claim to hold.

Interestingly, Senator Imee Marcos, sister of the president, raised doubts about the Afghan migrants’ status as refugees. She emphasized the need to verify their identities and backgrounds, expressing concerns about potential sleeper cells or security threats. These valid concerns highlight the importance of thorough vetting processes when dealing with such delicate matters.

“Ang kinatatakutan natin ay napakalabo. Unang-una sino sila? Hindi naman sila naging empleyado ng Philippine government. Hindi natin kakilala yan. Baka naman mababait at inaapi. Tumulong tayo bilang refugee sila. Kung refugee sila. Pero ang sinasabi ngayon. Hindi sila refugee. Empleyado sila ng mga Amerikano. Paano natin malalaman kung maayos na mga tao ito, o nakakapraning ba kung may sleeper cell diyan,” the senator told a group of media in an interview.

Unsurprisingly, Filipino netizens strongly oppose this deal between the Biden administration and the Marcos regime, suggesting that the influence of the Romualdezes, especially Ambassador Jose Manuel “Babe” Romualdez, played a role in brokering the agreement. Speculations about personal gains or kickbacks from the Biden administration have also circulated online, raising questions about the motives behind this deal.

While supporters of President Marcos criticize the Duterte family for opposing the deal, it is crucial to look beyond the political rivalries. Rather than engaging in a political blame game, Filipinos should focus on the bigger picture—the opportunity for American Democrats to demonstrate the sincerity of their beliefs by accepting these Afghan migrants.

Instead of getting caught up in local politics, let us hold the Democrats accountable and challenge them to practice what they preach. Rather than debating whether we should accept Afghan migrants or not, let us remind the Democrats of their duty to act upon their professed values and provide refuge to those in need, refugees or not.

It is time for the American Democrats to step up, fulfill their promises, and truly embody the compassion they claim to possess. The world is watching, and the Afghan migrants deserve better than empty words and hollow gestures.
