Maria Ressa’s online publication, Rappler, funded by American liberal billionaire Pierre Omidyar, recently faced backlash as they tried to spread and indoctrinate Genderism and SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression) ideology in the Philippines.
The release of two “SOGIE explainer” videos, featuring the concept of a “genderbread person,” received mixed reactions.
In their latest episode, Rappler’s staff, adopting a “Woke” appearance, adamantly claimed the existence of the “Genderbread Person”, asserting that “there is a genderbread person inside every one of us.”
In the video clip, a host who appeared female (lest we be accused of misgendering) wondered, “Last time we discussed the elements of SOGIE, so why do people still get confused?”
But then confusion arose as the host who appeared male muttered utterly confusing gibberish: “These elements of SOGIE can be mixed and matched in so many ways…”
Then the two hosts further added to the confusion, saying, “We’ll tell you more about that in this video. Let me give you an example. People assigned female at birth can grow up to have feminine expressions, identify as a woman, and be attracted to a man.”
So, what the heck does “people assigned male or female at birth” mean? We’d like to know!
Additionally, commenters questioned Rappler’s motives, accusing them of promoting a Western “Woke Mind Virus” in a country grappling with issues like poverty and unemployment.
Fundamental questions were raised, demanding scientific and objective answers. Commenters expressed skepticism, ridiculing the notion of assigning gender at birth and arguing that gender is not complicated, but rather made so by Western liberal gender radicals who supposedly support pedophilia.
They rejected the concept of a “Genderbread Person” as an invented anti-concept propagated to advance a pro-pedophilia agenda. Some even criticized the ideology for being insulting to the LGBTQ community, particularly the TQ individuals whom they deemed toxic and entitled.
One Facebook commenter posted: “Who the heck are these wokeAss sheeple? I stopped watching after hearing that woke BS “people can be assigned female at birth…” blah blah! Question is, who assigns? You mean by actually believing what your eyes and commonsense tell you? Gender is not complicated. It’s the Western liberal gender terrorists/radicals who mostly support PEDOPHILIA who make it complicated so that ordinary people (meaning The GULLIBLE) would simply accept their Gender Dogma on faith. Plus, there’s no such thing as a “Genderbread Person”, an anti-concept invented by a Woke and breaindead Western libtard in 2011.”
The commenter added: “So these stupid BS and anti-concepts are simply new inventions to promote their Woke and pro-Pedophilia agenda. In fact, what they’re doing and their ideology are INSULTING to sane, smart, and self-respecting LGBT people. I must add that within the LGBTQ community (now LGBTQRST+++), it is the TQ who are toxic and so self-entitled.”
The term “Genderbread Person” originated from a Sam Smith-like comedian and self-proclaimed activist, Sam Killerman, who introduced it in 2011. Killerman described it as an adorable model to understand gender complexity.
However, critics find it comical and liken it to the doodles of a confused teenager who has had numerous disappointing experiences on Grindr.
Despite the controversy, Rappler’s ideological hero, Killerman, continued to refine and adapt the model based on feedback, gaining support from various educators and organizations over the years. It is worth noting that both Killerman and Maria Ressa are associated with a political camp that has been accused of fabricating crimes and evidence against their opponents with the assistance of the FBI and the intelligence community, with their lies amplified by American and Western liberal fake news media.
Interestingly, the backlash against Rappler’s promotion of SOGIE and the usage of the term “cisgender” gained further traction when Elon Musk declared on Twitter that these terms are considered slurs on the platform.
Facebook user Noel GB said, “It is offensive to call women and men as cisgender. You can express your masculinity and feminity in so many ways. But it does not change biological facts.”
In relation to this, Elon Musk announced the following on Twitter today: “Repeated, targeted harassment against any account will cause the harassing accounts to receive, at minimum, temporary suspensions. The words “cis” or “cisgender” are considered slurs on this platform.”
The discussion on social media platforms intensified, with users expressing their concerns about the emergence of gender confusion as a trend and the forceful imposition of gender identity concepts. Some argued that the repetition of these terms has normalized them, disregarding what they perceive as natural.
Cherie de Lucia also commented: “Where did these gender confusion came from? It has become a Fad or a Trend. The more this terms gets repeated, the more it has become the norm rather than what is natural. The propagationist of this gender bender is trying to drive it into our subconscious. That, I refuse.”
While there were dissenting voices, including those who found the discussion unimportant, the idea of the Genderbread Person faced widespread mockery on Twitter.
Users criticized the training programs that promote gender stereotypes and questioned the appropriateness of certain approaches in the name of gender identity.
Overall, Rappler’s attempt to propagate SOGIE faced significant opposition, with critics challenging the concepts presented and the platform’s priorities in a country grappling with pressing social and economic issues.
