A private resort in Bucal Calamba, Laguna turned into a scene of chaos and destruction as a shocking CCTV footage captured male tenants recklessly tossing everything from plastic chairs to tables and even a water dispenser into the pool at Jeremias Triplex Resort.

The incident, which unfolded on August 14, 2023, has taken the internet by storm, amassing over 1.5 million views and more than 18,000 comments from furious netizens condemning the outrageous behavior.

The CCTV video was uploaded online, revealing the audacious act that left the tranquil resort in ruins. What made matters even worse was the revelation that the culprits were identified as employees of SEMPHIL, a company that was quick to distance itself from their actions. In a statement shared on Facebook, SEMPHIL expressed sadness over the incident and joined Jeremias Triplex Resort in condemning the “totally inappropriate actions” of their employees.

“SEMPHIL shares with JEREMIAS TRIPLEX Resort sadness on the totally inappropriate actions committed by several persons on the use of JEREMIAS Resort’s facilities,” the statement read, sparking a flurry of reactions from the online community.

However, SEMPHIL’s response regarding the incident raised eyebrows. Although the company clarified that the employees’ outing was not an official company event, it remained vague about whether these employees would face internal investigations for their unprofessional behavior. Despite disassociating itself from the vandalism, SEMPHIL seemed to imply that netizens were spreading “wrong information” through their posts. No specific examples of such misinformation were provided.

The Facebook page “Master Speedy,” which shared the CCTV footage, also posted photos of the perpetrators, notably the one responsible for throwing the water dispenser into the pool. Yet, the viral post refrained from disclosing the names or identities of the vandals. Additionally, it did not provide any updates on whether the resort’s owner or administration had taken steps to involve the authorities in response to the incident.

Netizens remain perplexed about the motivation behind the group’s destructive spree.
