Vice Ganda Breaks Silence on Awra: ‘She’s Still My Talent’

Comedian star Vice Ganda has finally emerged from the shadows to set the record straight- that he is still very much the guiding star in the seemingly dimming constellation of Awra Briguela’s career.

With all the buzz surrounding Awra’s involvement in the infamous Poblacion brawl that left the Makati streets echoing with whispers, many wondered if Vice Ganda had severed ties with the young star. However, Vice Ganda’s words came as a refreshing burst of truth amidst the tumultuous sea of rumors.

“Yeah, she is still my talent,” Vice assured in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, quelling the storm of speculations with those eight simple words.

The saga began last June when Awra Briguela became the talk of the town due to her unintended role in a street altercation in the heart of Makati. Soon after, the rumor mill went into overdrive, suggesting that Vice Ganda had waved the final curtain on their professional association.

Vice Ganda, never one to mince words, debunked these rumors with an eloquent response: “Alam mo nagtataka ako kung saan nila nakukuha. One, no one asked me, ikaw lang ang nagtanong sa ‘kin. I was not interviewed by anyone so nagtataka ako kung saan nila nakukuha ‘yung chikang iniwan ko si Awra. Na-interview ba nila si Awra?”

It seems the rumor-mongers had not counted on Awra’s unique predicament either. “Kasi si Awra cannot be interviewed by anyone, bawal kasi siya ma-interview. Kaya grabe talaga ‘yung clout-chasing, ‘yung para magamit ‘yung pangalan ko, ‘yung pangalan ni Awra,” Vice Ganda elaborated, highlighting the complexities of their situation.

But how did Vice Ganda handle Awra’s recent run-in with the law? With the grace and wisdom befitting a mentor, he revealed, “Pinagpahinga ko muna siya ng ilang araw… para mahimasmasan. Tapos ako din papahupain ko kasi siyempre galit din ako, mainit din ang ulo ko.”

Vice Ganda also extended his support to Awra’s family, stating, “‘Yung usapan na ‘to, everything is coming from concern, love, and support.”

While some issues remain temporarily shelved, Vice Ganda affirmed the crucial point: “Ang gusto kong klaruhin ay hindi kami naghihiwalay ni Awra. Hindi ko siya iiwanan lalung-lalo na sa posisyon ng buhay niya, she needs guidance, and I will be there for her.”

The good news is that Awra Briguela is on the path to recovery. “She’s okay. She’s trying to be better every day,” Vice Ganda reported, shedding light on Awra’s progress.

In the end, Vice Ganda left us with a thought-provoking message that transcends the gossip and drama: “Wala tayong magagawa, nangyari na ‘yun. Magsisisihan pa ba tayo? Magmumurahan pa ba tayo? What can we learn from this especially you? What can you learn from this experience? How can this experience strengthen you as a person and empower you to be a better person?”
