Billionaire and X owner Elon Musk, fresh from his brief stint as a “US border crisis” vlogger, has taken to social media yet again, this time shedding light on the contentious issue of “pronouns in bio.”
In a characteristically Muskian fashion, he didn’t mince words, stating, “Pronouns in bio means the woke mind virus ate your brain.”
Musk’s provocative response was triggered by Chaya Raichik, the owner and admin of the popular account, Libs of TikTok.
Raichik had playfully mocked a USA Today writer who proudly displayed his pronouns in his bio.
She stated, “Pronouns in bio is a great way to inform us of who is a serious person and who isn’t.”
This isn’t the first time Musk has tossed the term “woke mind virus” into the ring and taken a jab at pronouns.
He introduced the phrase in December 12, 2022 with a tweet that went instantly viral, proclaiming, “The woke mind virus is either defeated or nothing else matters.”
Musk was referring to what he sees as the weaponized “Woke” culture in America, used by western liberals to push gender, climate change, and race-based ideologies while silencing critics and political opponents.
Just a day before that viral tweet, Musk tweeted, “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,” in a tongue-in-cheek reference to the controversial health official, Anthony Fauci, known for his role in implementing strict lockdowns and vaccine mandates.
Musk later clarified his views on the “woke mind virus,” describing it as “fundamentally anti-science, anti-merit, and anti-human.”

He argued that unless this virus is stopped, civilization will never become multiplanetary. In an interview with liberal comedian Bill Maher, Musk elaborated that the “woke mind virus” encompasses anything “anti-meritocratic” and “anything that results in the suppression of free speech.”
In Raichik’s recent post, she revealed a direct message from Zach Schermele, a USA Today reporter, who reached out for a comment on a bomb threat at Fresno State University.
The threat targeted a professor whose pronoun policy, according to Schermele, had been criticized in a tweet by Raichik’s organization.
In her response, Raichik quipped, “You have pronouns in your bio which tells me that nothing you say should be taken seriously.”
Schermele’s bio proudly displayed “he/him/his.”
This tweet quickly went viral, amassing over 24,000 likes and 2,000 retweets. It gained even more attention when Musk retweeted it, garnering a whopping 79,000 likes and 16,000 retweets.
Raichik, who had previously remained anonymous as the owner of the controversial Libs of TikTok account, which shares humorous videos of woke liberals in the United States, responded to Musk’s retweet with a simple, “I approve this message.”
In the midst of the heated debate that unfolded in response to Musk’s post, a verified user named Kerolyn Christine, a self-proclaimed “furious defender of LGBTQ rights & equality,” defended the use of pronouns in bios.
She argued that pronouns put people at ease and should be seen as a matter of courtesy and respect, comparing them to saying “Yes, sir” or “Yes, Ma’am.”
However, Christine’s viewpoint was met with strong opposition from some users who disagreed with her liberal beliefs.
One user countered, “It is different than letting someone say yes sir or yes ma’am. It’s telling someone who wants to call you ma’am to call you sir. Talking about your genitals or what you do with them is never appropriate for business etiquette.”
Another chimed in, asserting, “There are no good reasons to have pronouns in your bio unless you buy into gender fluidity, which is a big part of the ‘woke mind virus.’ This is the point.”
In a sarcastic twist, another verified user agreed with Christine, stating, “Actually, the pronouns might be useful. Those hiring might think it’s a hard pass. Don’t want the drama.”
Elon Musk’s ability to ignite debates and stir conversations on Twitter remains as potent as ever, making him a lightning rod for discussions on topics like the “woke mind virus” and pronouns in bios.
