Global and US News Media Caught Peddling Pro-Hamas Terrorist Propaganda

Global and U.S. mainstream media, including some major news outlets in the Philippines, which essentially source news from global news wires, have come under fire for blatantly promoting false information and relying on Hamas terrorists’ propaganda.

America’s major news outlets, such as The New York Times, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal, have been accused of uncritically accepting Hamas’s claims during the early days of their conflict with Israel.

Videos of a misfired Hamas rocket quickly went viral on social media, challenging the narrative presented by these media organizations.

These footages, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), contradicted the pro-Hamas reports published by global mainstream media.

For instance, The Wall Street Journal, relying on Hamas statements, immediately ran a report with the headline “Israeli Airstrike on Gaza Hospital Kills More Than 500, Palestinian Officials Say.”

CNN, notorious for being a source of false information, blamed Israel for a hospital explosion that it alleged killed hundreds of civilians without evidence. Even after speaking to an IDF spokesperson who provided evidence that Hamas was responsible for the attack, CNN refused to retract its statements.

One of CNN’s analysts, Kim Dozier, even suggested that the rocket hitting a Gaza hospital “could change the international opinion” against Israel. Contrary to these claims, there is no evidence implicating Israel; video footage shows that it was a misfire by Hamas.

The New York Times, another liberal news outlet, initially published an unverified report based on Hamas propaganda. It claimed that “an Israeli airstrike hit a Gaza hospital on Tuesday, killing at least 200 Palestinians.”

Later updates provided conflicting information, with one stating that “at least 500 people were killed by an Israeli airstrike at the Gaza hospital.” Subsequently, an update noted that “The Israeli military said its intelligence indicated that a rocket malfunctioned after it was launched by a Palestinian armed group.”

On Fox News, anchor Kayleigh McEnany didn’t mince words when she criticized America’s liberal media, particularly CNN and The New York Times, as purveyors of Hamas terrorists’ propaganda. She noted the media’s immediate tendency to blame Israel for the hospital incident, labeling it a knee-jerk reaction.

“We began with an appalling, appalling moment for the United States media that was not lost upon any of us to immediately spew pro-terrorist talking points across outlets, across the major wires of the United States blaming the hospital, like that, knee-jerk reaction, on Israel,” McEnany said.

Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, IDF spokesperson, spoke out against CNN’s false reporting on CNN and condemned the media for accepting Hamas propaganda “as facts.”

The IDF also released a recording of an intercepted phone call between two Hamas operatives discussing the failed Islamic Jihad rocket that landed on the Gaza hospital.

This latest Hamas propaganda campaign against Israel appears to have been effective, not only fooling global news media but also European Union (EU) officials and other European leaders who started condemning Israel shortly after the so-called attack.

The EU’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell, called for establishing culpability for the incident and accountability for the violence. However, most EU leaders jumped to conclusions and immediately denounced Israel, despite evidence suggesting it was a case of Hamas propaganda.

A popular news program from India, Firstpost, hosted by Palki Sharma, who has a significant global following, also appeared to have fallen for Hamas propaganda. Palki repeatedly claimed that an “Israeli airstrike” had “flattened the hospital.”

Many viewers of the program from around the world expressed their dismay at this erroneous reporting, as they stated that no hospital had been “flattened,” and the claim of 500 civilian deaths was highly questionable.

“I like Palki but she must apologize for her mistake. The hospital is standing and was not flattened. No victims were pulled out of the hospital. It was a rocket landing and burning off in the parking lot where people had gathered. Please, Please  Palki, correct this report,” a viewer wrote.

“Aerial pictures of the hospital, show a charred parking lot where the misfired rocket landed. If an Israeli bomb targeted a building it there are ample examples of demolished and crumbled buildings. But in this case  “the hospital walls stayed intact,” another viewer commented.

Meanwhile, on the X platform, netizens continued to expose how the media had failed their viewers and the public. Evidence now shows that Israel did not perpetrate the attack, and that Hamas was responsible, and that the reported death toll of 500 people was inaccurate.

Fortunately, X’s Community Notes serve as a platform for exposing falsehoods and challenging those who disseminate pro-Hamas terrorists’ propaganda and fake news, particularly politicians, news media, and influential verified users.

Robby Starbuck, a verified user, posted: “So after all the drama yesterday, it turns out the Gaza hospital wasn’t bombed; the parking lot was, and 500 people didn’t die. Oh, and the rocket wasn’t from Israel; it was from a failed rocket that Palestinian terrorists shot at Israel. Absolutely insane.”

Many netizens on the platform also shared videos and photos showing that the Al-Ahly hospital was intact, and it was the parking lot, not the hospital, that had been hit, as claimed by the media.

Questions were raised about the report that 500 people may have died in a parking lot, which was deemed highly improbable.

“The Palestinian rocket was aimed at civilians in Israel but fell into the hospital parking lot in Gaza. The number of casualties they caused was extremely inflated, trying to blame Israel as usual, to get the world to forget their Nazi crimes,” noted X user Gevald.

Another netizen posted, “I do not claim to be a bomb expert. BUT the bomb that was supposedly dropped by Israel on a hospital in Gaza looks more like an explosion of ammunition by Hamas in a parking lot.”
