Cult Leader’s Media Group Releases Intriguing Christmas Station ID, Garnering Favor with Some Netizens

A media group associated with an alleged cult leader has launched an unusual Christmas station ID, grabbing attention ahead of established TV giants like ABS-CBN Corporation and GMA Network.

Titled “Sinag ng Pasko (Light of Christmas),” the 2023 Christmas station ID from ALT Multimedia Production was posted on their YouTube channel on October 19.

Jey Rence Quilario, widely recognized as Señor Agila and currently the subject of a Senate probe into various allegations, is credited as the writer and producer of this remarkable piece.

Quilario, a 22-year-old composer, CEO of ALT Multimedia Production, and member of the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Incorporated (FILSCAP), has sparked intrigue with his double life.

While his artistic persona as “Señor Agila” is somewhat famous in the world of music, at least in his province, it is his controversial role within a religious organization based in Socorro, Surigao del Norte, that has led to a Senate inquiry on allegations of sexual abuse, rape, and child marriage.

Despite the ongoing investigation, the Christmas station ID has received positive feedback from netizens on YouTube.

Comments such as “Ang linis ng pagkagawa pati sa pagkanta, sarap pakinggan” (The production and singing are well done, a pleasure to listen to) and “It literally gives me goosebumps. Congrats” reflect the surprising resonance of the music video.

Quilario, believed to be a reincarnation of the Santo Niño (Child Jesus), leads the Socorro Bayanihan Services Incorporated (SBSI) but was unable to participate in the station ID due to his detention at the Senate.

ALT Multimedia Production, in defense of their work, stated that their Christmas station ID “provides the true essence of Christmas, which is a bright promise that a guiding light will find its way to us even in the middle of life’s greatest challenges and deepest struggles.”

While the perceptions of SBSI as a “Kulto sa Surigao (Cult in Surigao)” persist, its members continue to hold onto hope, believing that the teachings of Señor Agila illuminate the path even in the darkest of times.

ALT Media Production’s YouTube channel, established in May 2019, showcases an array of music videos, including Christmas and summer station IDs dating back to 2020. Notably, one song’s title stands out: “Dios Ikaw ang Agila” (God You Are the Eagle).

The media group’s unconventional approach to producing their content becomes apparent as it is revealed that they maintain a recording studio and professional broadcast equipment in their headquarters, even running their own radio station.

Intriguing and unexpected, the release of this Christmas station ID prompts curiosity and leaves us pondering: what might come next in this captivating narrative?
