Choosy Pharmacy Robber Demands Not Cash, But Viagra and More

A pharmacy robber displayed a picky penchant for prescription medications rather than a penchant for cash.

The suspect, identified as Thomas Mues, 23, hailing from Florida, USA, walked into a drugstore on Oct. 21, and presented a handwritten note, demanding a list of drugs, including Viagra.

The brazen incident unfolded at a CVS Store in Orlando, as reported by the Orlando Police Department. Thomas entered the pharmacy and handed a note to one of the pharmacists, making his intentions clear.

The note read, “THIS IS AN ARMED Robbery, Please cooperate; I don’t want to hurt you. You are not to alarm anybody, or I will shoot the closest person to me! Please follow these directions or I will shoot the closest person to me.”

The note went on to list the specific drugs the robber sought, including Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Xanax, Adderall, liquid Codeine, and, rather notably, Viagra. The message concluded with the chilling statement, “When finished, place note in bag and lay down, or I will shoot.”

According to reports, the employee who received the note was consistently directed to read the written list when asked about the desired drugs, raising suspicion about the peculiar demand.

Orlando Police swiftly responded to the situation on October 24, with officers apprehending Thomas as he attempted to flee the scene. He was captured with the stolen drugs and his handwritten note still in his possession. He had traveled from Jacksonville to Orlando to commit the crime, admitting to a similar pharmacy robbery in Central Florida.

Witnesses in the store reported that Thomas kept his hands concealed in his pockets during the robbery, and no firearm was seen during the incident.

In an interesting twist, the perpetrator has since penned an apology letter, denying any intention to harm the pharmacy employees or carrying a weapon. In the letter, he expressed remorse, stating, “I know this may have been traumatizing for everybody inside, and I just wanted to apologize and let it be known that I will be helping bring it to an end.”

Currently, Thomas faces multiple charges and is detained at the Orange County Jail as the legal proceedings unfold.
