Elon Musk and Joe Rogan recently made headlines during a lively discussion on the popular comedian’s podcast, where they engaged in a playful bet involving the much-anticipated Tesla Cybertruck. In a three-hour episode brimming with intriguing topics, the bet became a memorable highlight.
The conversation revolved around the performance, weight, and unique all-metal construction of the eagerly awaited electric truck. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, mentioned demonstrations showcasing the Cybertruck’s supposed bulletproofing, which piqued Joe Rogan’s curiosity about its limits.
Rogan’s interest in testing the vehicle’s resilience led to a casual inquiry, “Can I try it with an arrow?” Musk, known for his confidence, responded with a nonchalant, “Yeah, it’ll be fine.”
Rogan, a seasoned archer with a penchant for hunting large game, described various archery setups in detail. However, Musk remained steadfast in his belief that arrows would not harm the Cybertruck. Musk playfully quipped, “Maybe I’ll drive back with an arrow sticking out of my car.”
A bet soon took shape. Rogan confidently challenged Musk, declaring, “I bet I can get it in there.” Musk, ever the high-stakes gambler, responded with a seemingly modest wager, “I’ll bet you can’t. I’ll bet you a dollar.”

As the world’s wealthiest individual discussed the power of crossbows in comparison to firearms, Rogan realized he possessed a less potent bow than the one he had previously mentioned. Eager to settle the bet, he insisted on a demonstration.
The scene transitioned to Rogan’s garage, where he expertly nocked, drew, and anchored an arrow, targeting the Cybertruck’s rear passenger side door from a safe but close distance. Meanwhile, Musk observed the spectacle from the other side of the garage, puffing on a cigar.
The arrowhead struck the vehicle, leaving a tiny ding. Rogan, impressed by the Cybertruck’s resilience, exclaimed, “Barely scratched it,” displaying a broken arrow and a dented arrowhead to the camera.
Upon returning to the studio, Rogan lavished praise on Musk, saying, “That’s impressive, very impressive. It just destroyed the broadhead, flattened at the tip, and then the arrow blew apart.”
In the midst of discussing the Cybertruck’s purported bulletproof capabilities, Rogan asked Musk about the reasoning behind incorporating such features. Musk explained his perception of trucks, asserting, “Trucks are supposed to be tough, right? Is your truck bulletproof?”
Musk vividly described his vision, “If you shoot a gun at a regular truck, it’ll go out, it’ll go through both doors. You can’t hide behind a car door like they do in the movies.” He further reminisced, “You know back in the day, I’m dating myself, but The A-Team, there’d be like bullets flying everywhere and they’d be hiding behind the car door, right? That doesn’t work, but it does in a Cybertruck.”
The lighthearted bet, along with the impressive display of the Cybertruck’s resilience, added a unique twist to the podcast episode, showcasing the innovative spirit and confidence that define Elon Musk and his groundbreaking creations.
