‘Ungrateful’ Woke NY Woman Wishes ‘Hero’ Didn’t Fire as She’s “Terrified” By Guns, While Angry Netizens Urge Others to Never Help Liberals At All

A recent incident in New York City has ignited a contentious discussion surrounding the reluctance to assist liberal New Yorkers during criminal encounters.

The episode underscores the challenges faced by those attempting to intervene in criminal situations and raises questions about the appreciation of help in the context of differing political ideologies.

The incident involved a man rescuing a woman threatened by a homeless would-be mugger in the city’s subway system.

Despite the woman acknowledging the rescuer, John Rote, as a “hero”, she expressed reservations about the use of a firearm during the intervention.

“I was terrified, I was feeling fear, panic. I was ready for anything, to fight for my life in any way. The gun was pointed in my direction, and that’s all I saw. It was a feeling of pure terror that I don’t wish on anyone,” the woman, who would have been another victim of daily mugging in the city, told New York Post.

This has led to a broader debate on the perceived ungratefulness of liberal New Yorkers when faced with assistance, prompting discussions about personal safety, public intervention, and the role of political beliefs in shaping attitudes towards aid.

“Of course, I am happy that that man tried to help me and that nobody was injured during this incident, but it’s scary to think that people are carrying guns around the city. I understand why people do it, they see it as their only means of protection,” she said.

The rescued woman, a 40-year-old Queens resident who chose to remain anonymous, recounted the pure terror she experienced during the ordeal.

She attributed the deteriorating conditions in the subway system to the lenient punishments for repeat offenders, emphasizing the need for increased security measures.

Rote’s actions, captured on surveillance footage, showed him using a firearm to deter the would-be mugger.

While the woman expressed gratitude for Rote’s intervention, her discomfort with the use of a gun has fueled online outrage.

“In this case the man risked a lot to protect me, his safety, and the safety of other people on the platform. Yes, I do think he is a hero, but I don’t know, I would likely think him a bigger hero if he tried to help me without the gun. In my eyes, the gun is a little extreme,” she added.

Netizens have questioned the broader implications of political ideologies on gratitude and cooperation during emergency situations, sparking a discussion on the potential consequences of intervening in liberal environments.

Netizens expressed outrage at the woman’s behavior, perceiving her to be more afraid of guns than actual criminals.

One netizen remarked, “Her message is either to confront the aggressor physically or refrain from intervening, regardless of what they may be carrying. Good luck next time. You’re on your own. Call 911 if you get the chance.”

Other online users noted that this reluctance to act is why people hesitate to assist when criminals target women and the elderly in public, particularly Asians.

“Moral of the story: No good deed goes unpunished. Next time, just look the other way and let her figure it out,” commented another netizen.

Verified user Collin Rugg bluntly stated, “He should have just let her get mugged.”

Meanwhile, Craig Chamberlain, another verified user, questioned, “So let me get this straight, the woke are so terrified of guns that they’d rather let their cities get overrun with criminals than have them be used to keep them safe?”

Rugg concurred, saying, “Sounds like some of them would rather die than be saved by a good guy with a gun.”

Expressing frustration, X user Chuks Levi commented, “She’s an ungrateful woman!”

Another netizen took a harsh stance, stating, “Sometimes liberals deserve what’s coming to them.”
