A YouTube channel known for clickbait and showbiz sensationalism has been actively disseminating malicious lies and fake news regarding the tragic death of Filipino movie icon Ronaldo Valdez, falsely implicating his son, veteran singer and actor Janno Gibbs.
Mr. Balita TV, a monetized YouTube channel boasting over 95,000 followers and a notorious reputation for spreading showbiz fake news, has been relentlessly posting defamatory content targeting Gibbs in connection to the shocking demise of his father.
The channel’s unsubstantiated claims have garnered significant attention, with one post alone amassing over 400,000 views as of the latest update.
On December 22, a particularly libelous content titled ‘Sumuko Na! Janno Gibbs Dinampot ng NBI matapos umami sa kasalanan nito sa aman si Ronaldo Valdez’ surfaced, narrated by a female voice.

The video, presented as entertainment news, baselessly asserts that Janno is a suspect in his father’s death, citing a strained relationship between the two.
However, the actual circumstances surrounding Valdez’s death were initially declared as suicide, and Janno did not surrender to authorities as the post falsely claims.
Subsequent defamatory posts continued to emerge, with titles such as ‘Lagot na! Melissa Gibbs nagsumbong sa NBI dahil sa ginawang pagpatay ni Janno Gibbs sa ama’ and ‘Shocking! Janno Gibbs pinaghahanap ng NBI matapos tumakas sa kulungan.’

Both posts contain fabricated content, suggesting criminal accusations against Janno that never occurred.
The fake news campaign reached new heights with a post on December 24, featuring a thumbnail showing Janno behind bars.

Titled ‘Shocking! Janno Gibbs pinaghahanap ng NBI matapos tumakas sa kulungan,’ the video claims that Janno’s sister, Melissa Gibbs, filed a criminal case against him and sought the assistance of Sen. Raffy Tulfo.
All these allegations are entirely untrue, and the stories narrated by the channel’s female voice are pure fabrications.
The most recent post, uploaded a few hours ago, is titled ‘Nakakaawa! Janno Gibbs napaiyak ng isiwalant ang pambubugbog na karanasan niya sa kulungan!’

The video continues the false narrative of Janno being incarcerated, accumulating over 27,000 views.
All these misleading contents by Mr. Balita TV appear to be monetized, with commenting disabled.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, the fake news posts have been shared not only on Facebook but also on a porn site, further amplifying the baseless accusations against Janno Gibbs.

Contrary to the unfounded claims, verifiable information from Janno Gibbs’ official social media accounts—Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok—proves that he was in Canada when his father passed away on December 17.
Janno had performances in Red Deer on December 2, Calgary on December 3, and Lloydminster on December 8.

A video posted by Gibbs a day before Valdez’s death also confirms his presence in Canada.
On December 18, Janno posted a statement on Instagram confirming his father’s passing.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confirmed Valdez’s death on December 17, stating that the veteran actor, renowned for his imposing patriarch roles, succumbed to a gunshot wound on his right temple.

Investigations into the circumstances of Valdez’s death are still ongoing. In response to the circulation of a video showing the retrieval of Valdez’s body, two policemen have been dismissed, and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has initiated a probe into the video leak.
