James Stephen “Jimmy” Donaldson, widely known as MrBeast, the world’s largest and most generous YouTuber, recently concluded the year with a comprehensive overview of his philanthropic team’s accomplishments in 2023.
In a year-end wrap-up video on his channel, Beast Philanthropy, which boasts over 20 million subscribers, MrBeast highlighted numerous heroic and life-changing feats as the year drew to a close.
Among the remarkable achievements showcased were the rescue and restoration of an orphanage in South Africa, the construction of 12 new homes with a fresh supply of food, the distribution of 20,000 shoes to African children, and the provision of free surgeries to 160 Filipino children, among other endeavors.
This episode came just over a month after MrBeast and his team built 100 wells in Africa, a video of which has garnered over 160 million views.
In his latest upload on Beast Philanthropy, the video has already surpassed 1 million views at the time of this posting. MrBeast aims to inspire people worldwide to share their blessings with those less fortunate.
During the team’s visit to the Philippines, Darren Margolias, the head of charity, showcased the impact of their efforts, revealing the story of a Filipino girl who, thanks to Beast Philanthropy, was learning to walk for the first time with a straight leg after having her cast removed.
Margolias expressed the profound effect these surgeries have on the lives of the children they help.
“The magnitude of the surgeries that these kids from cure for free will change their lives. And the fact that Beast Philanthropy can come in here and help cure provide care to some these kids is something that’s going to affect me and stay with me for the rest of my life,” Margolias said.
A Hopi Reservation in Arizona, with its 10,000 members facing winter freezing cold, received over $2.7 million worth of clothing, as they strive to stay warm and put food on the table.
The team extended its impact to amputees in Cambodia by partnering with a private organization to donate 2,000 prosthetic limbs.
In a remote Colombian island, they built a solar grid, providing electricity and Wi-Fi for the first time, enabling access to online education. Additionally, a bakery was established to empower women on the island.
In Kenya, where access to fresh drinking water is scarce, MrBeast’s team collaborated with Lectric ebike to provide 1,000 Kenyans with free electric bicycles.
They also featured the construction of an orphanage in South Africa, aiming to assist thousands of abandoned and homeless children.
In Thailand, the team rescued and aided thousands of disabled dogs, enabling them to “run for the very first time.”
In Zambia, Margolias and his team collaborated with TikTok sensation and philanthropist Dora Moon Nyambe to provide electricity to Dora’s remote sanctuary, combating high rates of domestic violence through the installation of a massive solar grid for the entire village.
“We accomplished so much this year, both on the channel and off, but none of this could happen without you. Your views fund the work we do, your support energizes us when we feel depleted, and your enthusiasm inspires us to to work as hard as we can every day to earn your continued loyalty. We are nothing without you,” MrBeast Philanthropy stated on its channel.
