Retired army captain and scout ranger and devoted Duterte supporter Clemente ‘Dado’ Enrique took to social media, particularly YouTube, to amplify an allegation popular among Duterte supporters — that President Bongbong Marcos is a “cocaine” drug user deserving of “Tokhang.”
The self-confessed former Marcos supporter turned vlogger posted an almost hour-long rant on YouTube, which garnered over 62,000 views.
In this video, Enrique outlined six scenarios that might shape the destiny of the Marcos administration.
Enrique, now popular among Duterte supporters due to his manifesto against the current administration, has envisioned seemingly political doomsday scenarios. These include President Marcos either being compelled to resign or facing potential harm from the armed forces.
“Nasaan ang pangulo? And dahil sa kawalan ng pangulp and then yong question mark na sinasabing humihithit, nag-aano… Sumisinghot, nagshushunga, sumisinghot ng cocaine. Dangerous yon!” Enrique said, reiterating the term “Tokhang.”
In 2018, “Tokhang” became the word of the year due to the surge of alleged deaths related to the then Duterte regime’s bloody anti-illegal drug campaign.
The former PMAer then drew a comparison between an ordinary citizen who may easily fall prey to “Tokhang” — associated with the killings related to its drug war policy — and Marcos, who holds the highest office in the land, complaining about a double standard.
“Etong president ng Pilipinas ang may question. Nasaan yong agency na magtotokhang? Nasaan yong maglalakas loob na mga tao na I-enforce yong mga batas natin ukol sa war on drugs. Wala! Kasi nga presidente ng Pilipinas,” he said.
Enrique’s statement echoed former Duterte spokesperson and SMNI personality Harry Roque, who urged the president to undergo a drug test.
“Ang aking suhestiyon, my humble suggestion, magpa-drug test si presidente dahil diyan lalabas ang katotohanan kung siya ay gumagamit o gumamit ng droga,” Roque said on SMNI.
In November 2021, just months ahead of the 2022 elections, Duterte made headline-grabbing statements, asserting in a gossip-laden tone that he knew of a presidential candidate who was “using cocaine.”
“He is a very weak leader … except for the name,” Duterte said at that time. “He might win hands down, OK. If that is what the Filipinos want, go ahead.”
Many speculated that Duterte was referring to then-candidate Marcos, whose running mate is the former president’s daughter Sara.
The alleged drug use and corruption attributed to Marcos became a primary focus of criticism among Duterte supporters, with Enrique going so far as to advocate for the current president’s resignation or forceful removal.
“Pero yong kaluluwa binebenta ninyo sa mga amo niyong tarantado rin, na mga kurakot rin. Kaya dapat kayo sama-sama! Hindi sa isla, sa disyerto,” he said almost shouting, adding “death is too sudden a punishment.”
“Nagdudurog ba ang presidente tapos walang salita galing sa Malacanang? Totoo ang dating nun eh!”
Enrique went on to claim that the president might be under the influence or control of the “mafia” or “drug lords.”
Enrique posted a poorly written manifesto, riddled with grammar errors, which SMNI promoted on its platform on December 26 last year. The manifesto urged people to “withdraw support for President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., for Betrayal of Public Trust.”
“When hopelessness and helplessness prevail over the shameless betrayal of our government officials, we have no recourse but to exercise our Sovereign Will,” the manifesto read.
In an SMNI interview, it was disclosed that the primary signatory of Enrique’s manifesto is a general named Johnny Macanas, who asserted he was misled into voting for Marcos; nevertheless, he stated that he continues to be a loyalist to the late Ferdinand Marcos.
In that interview, as he was unable to sign the manifesto endorsed by PMA graduates, he remarked, “Kaya etong si sir Dado, dahil may manifesto siya ako ang unang pumirma dun.”
Both Enrique and Macanas’s narrative on Marcos’s corruption appears to mirror that of notorious Duterte vloggers, especially social media personality Sass Rolando Sasot, who asserted in a recent interview with SMNI, “bantayan natin ang pera ng taumbayan.”
Among the six scenarios Enrique shared with his viewers include Marcos voluntarily stepping down or, should he refuse, he should be “forced to resign.”
“Kung magi-withdraw siya [Marcos] and he will find a place to defend himself, kalaban niya armed forces na. Hindi tayo. Ewan ko kung may mag-volunteer diyan na retired. But ang sigurado ako, you will die,” referring to the president.
The retired soldier also sang praises to Duterte, even saying, “Magaling si Duterte.”
“Makatao si Duterte. Kaya nandun kong following niya na hindi pwedeng gibain ng mga loyalista dito sa kabila.”
As to who will replace Marcos, Enrique wanted the president to “call a friend,” Vice President Sara, which is his second scenario.
What is evident from Enrique’s YouTube posts and manifesto is the urgent need to replace the current administration, as the president does not deserve a second chance.
“Binigyan siya ng chance. Eh ang sagot ang yabang eh,” he said, insisting people sign his manifesto calling for the withdrawal of support.
