‘Nakakaloka!’ Senator Imee Marcos Responds to Drug Addict Allegations Against Brother, Calls Romualdez ‘Bastos’

Senator Imee Marcos, the president’s eldest sister, has faced the media’s questions regarding President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s alleged involvement in drug use.

The accusations were made by former president Rodrigo Duterte during a rally in Davao.

In response to Duterte’s shocking claim, the senator, often referred to by supporters as ‘Super Ate’, initially expressed disbelief, stating, “Nakakaloka!”

However, she swiftly distanced herself from the controversy, asserting that it’s no longer her concern.

“Naku hindi ako kasali doon. Bahala na sila doon, kayang kaya na nila ‘yun. Nakakaloka, ‘yun lang ang masasabi ko,” she conveyed during an ambush interview on Tuesday.

Former President Duterte had publicly labeled Marcos as “bangag,” a term implying drug addiction, alleging, “We have a drug addict for president!”

Duterte claimed to have been presented with evidence by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during his mayoral tenure, where Marcos’s name reportedly appeared on a list.

This was quickly dismissed by the drug enforcement agency in a press conference claiming the president’s name is not on their narco list.

In response to the accusations, President Marcos countered by suggesting that Duterte’s health is being affected by fentanyl, an addictive painkiller. “I think it’s the Fentanyl,” she remarked when asked about the allegations.

Adding another layer to the political turmoil, Senator Marcos openly criticized her first cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), accusing him of being “bastos” (rude).

“Ikaw ang unang nambastus. Kapag inugali ang ugali mo, umiiyak ka,” she said, referring to Romualdez’s alleged behavior.

The senator posted the tweet a day after personally witnessing how the Dutertes and their staunchest political allies attacked the president in their Davao rally over the weekend, calling him a “drug addict” and demanding his resignation and even ouster.

Despite the intense situation, Senator Marcos had previously expressed her loyalty to Duterte, affirming her unwavering support, stating that she would continue to stand by the former president, “…even if I am the only one left.”
