In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, acclaimed rapper and songwriter Gloc-9 poured his heart out, revealing that his hit song ‘Sirena’ was a heartfelt gift for his LGBTQ+ community member son.

“My son is gay. When I wrote that song, he hadn’t come out to us yet. I didn’t know how to tell my son how much I love him) Gloc-9 shared.

I’m not really into showbiz, and I think it’s time to say it now—I am so proud of my son. I am excited for whatever he can achieve in his life) he added.

“Minsan iniisip ko how life gives you hints of magic here and there. And I don’t mind. Anak ko ‘yun,” (At times, I think about how life gives you hints of magic here and there. When I finished ‘Sirena’, I didn’t even realize. And I don’t mind. That’s my son.)

Gloc-9’s revelation adds a deeply personal layer to the song, which has resonated widely with audiences. ‘Sirena’ tackles themes of acceptance, identity, and love within the LGBTQ+ community, making it a powerful anthem for many.

This candid confession from Gloc-9 underscores the importance of family acceptance and support, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. It reflects a growing trend of artists using their platform to advocate for inclusivity and understanding.
