Ultra-billionaire Elon Musk amped up anticipation Tuesday, sharing a teaser for Joe Rogan’s scheduled interview with former President Donald Trump.

“The @joerogan conversation with @realDonaldTrump drops tonight,” Musk posted on X, gathering nearly 100,000 likes within an hour. “Can’t wait,” he added.

The post included a clip from Rogan’s discussion with Fox News host Kat Timpf, where they critiqued Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’s recent comments on social media regulation.

Harris had stated the need for oversight to counter misinformation, saying, “People are directly speaking to millions…without any level of oversight. That has to stop.” Rogan called her proposal “ridiculous,” arguing it undermines free speech, while Timpf and Rogan asserted that regulating speech violates the Constitution.

Musk, a vocal supporter of free speech, later posted, “Sunlight is the best disinfectant,” a nod to transparency.

Both Musk and Rogan, known for their strong stances on open dialogue, see censorship as a threat to free expression. Musk famously declared himself a “free speech absolutist” after acquiring Twitter, now X.

The Rogan-Trump interview is expected to cover a wide array of issues, adding to the ongoing debate over free speech and platform regulation in the U.S.
